You have seen the flat for you, now how do you secure it?
Once you have seen the flat for you, you must come back to the office and put down a £250 holding deposit (cash or cheque). This deposit will secure the property as yours – no-one else may even go to view it. You then decide on your move-in date. This can be done 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday. The move in date may be 7 to 10 days from the day you put the deposit down at the earliest, until 4 weeks later at the latest.
When can I get the keys?
When you’re paying the deposit you will receive application forms, as Alba Residential require references for all tenants before they move in to a property. The referencing process takes seven working days. Requested references include Landlord reference and your full-time employer’s reference.
What if I’m a student? Or working part-time?
In these cases, or if you have been working full time for your current employer for less than six months, you will need to provide a guarantor. This is someone who will guarantee your rent for the duration of your lease. A guarantor must be a UK Citizen, who lives in the UK. If you cannot supply a guarantor, Alba Residential will require you to pay six months rent upfront.
Maintenance to Report?
If you have any maintenance issues to report on your property please email Maintenance, and include the following information: Property Address, description of problem/s please include any make models of appliances, an up to date contact number and can we have access with keys or would you prefer to be present.
